Tired of hiding your chipped, stained smile? Why not rejuvenate it with beautiful porcelain veneers from Eldersburg Dental Group? Here, your cosmetic dentistry experts, Drs. Jocelyn Ocampo, Alexander Cho, and Jun Park, transform aesthetic problems so that patients can smile with confidence!

What are porcelain veneers?

Today, veneers are one of cosmetic dentistry's premier methods of smile refurbishment. Made of thin wafers of translucent ceramic, veneers disguise the front of teeth marred by:

  • Small chips
  • Cracks
  • Deep stains
  • Small gaps, rotations, and crowding
  • Irregular shape, size, and length

Designed according to your dentist's instructions, oral impressions, and photos of your face, veneers blend beautifully into your smile to improve personal appearance and reinforce tooth structure.

The veneer process

To determine if veneers are right for you, you will come to our Eldersburg office for a one-on-one consultation with one of our dentists. Here, you will discuss your smile goals and learn what's possible to achieve through treatment. You may even preview your new smile through amazing cosmetic imaging!

If it's a go, you'll undergo enamel reduction—a gentle resurfacing of your teeth so as to allow them to easily accept the veneers. A simple step, resurfacing entails that your dentist removes just about one-half millimeter of tooth material so the veneers fit and bite well.

Between appointment one and appointment two, you'll wear temporary veneers. Then, when your permanent ones are ready, you'll return to Eldersburg Dental Group for final placement.

To accomplish this, the dentist uses a strong adhesive which may be varied in thickness and color to achieve the most realistic look possible. Additionally, a special curing light activates a bonding chemical, making your veneers immovable and resilient to the forces of biting and chewing.

Veneer care

Keep your beautiful new smile shining through an oral care routine consisting of daily brushing and flossing as well as semi-annual dental examinations and cleanings from our Eldersburg office. Additionally, if you grind your teeth, you can avoid premature wear with a customized mouth guard.
